Just in case if someone get in the same trouble as I was..

I installed this from an external drive, got the dreaded "memory access exception" error.. every solution offered didn't work. I tried:
- dgvoodoo wrapper, in "glide" menu change the memory to 2048 kb
- change compatibility to the game exes ...

Sorry for necro-ing, but the installer only goes so far into choosing the language, then the application goes minimized and can't display anything. Using "run as administrator" still produces the same result. Is there any solution?

Nevermind, I just need to install it from the internal drive ...

To everyone that still crashes after first time Desmond leaves the Animus:

Change the default shortcut target application to assassincreedIIgame.exe, run as administrator
In the installation folder, go to "scripts" folder and delete/rename files named "unlocker.boot", "unlocker.ini"
Uplay, preorder ...
