The saves do not work, the game creates the files in the indicated directory but when you load the game it returns to the very beginning of the story.
The saves are working for me, from what I can gather, you must complete a stage for autosave to work properly.

What I did twice, the save files are on the right date and at the right time yet I always come back to the helicopter arrival scene.
