After a lengthy download, game installed ok. Once I try to start the game I get a information box stating "Failed to initialize the engine!" can someone please help?

Check if win7 or winxp game.
Exclude game folder from antivirus(should be done before install starts).
Make sure you're run it with admin priveiliges (i turn uac off completly in win7;
though only do that if your confident and know what you're doing)
Go to the Releases section here and check the posts under the Dark section,there should be some recent game update links
and useful info from other users.

did you have plenty of temp space,so all game files where installed/unpacked?
