Routine looks most interesting to me - I really liked the audio in the trailer.

I remember playing a lot of Mount & Blade some years back, so I have kind of high
hopes for this one, but unfortunately it looks like we'll have to wait until 2015.

I like games in a medieval setting so here's another one to look forward to.
Banished will be released on February 18, 2014, according to site.

There's a lot of good modding going on for mount and blade.

Banished is not the type of game i normally go for ,but i think for people who enjoy games like this ,they are starting to look better and better on powerful modern pcs.
That shining rock site makes you think about the huge amount of work involved in getting a game into a finished state.
Banished is developed by one guy. wow.
A lot of people are saying it' looks like a great game.

Some info about, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
No release date yet, as far as I know.

http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/5
http://www.indiedb.com/games/mount-blade-ii-bannerlord

I'm sure most M&B fans already know about this but I thought I'd
post it here because I'm hoping for a 2014 release, or early 2015.

My guess is that Kingdom Come and Mount & Blade II will probably be
released quite close to one another, to take advantage of each other's
fan base before all the medievalry hype dies out and is replaced by
some other new craze like, Nazi Zulu Zombies or something.

To be honest, I think that Kingdom Come looks a bit more epic and is
probably much closer to release. Personally I don't really care if
Mount & Blade gets second place - Give me an axe and I'll play it.

-----

Also, don't forget the new Thief game.
Release in a couple of weeks (end of February).

i dunno,we're getting so many games released these days, and most of them don't really stand out.
They're usually made with the best of intentions ,and more often then not we have to put up with a long period of update patches ,coz they're so bug ridden,or they're a copy of something that was done better before.

Thief should be ok,even if it won't have the same impact as the first thief games.
Rocksteady are talking about making a new Batman game,i liked the two that they made.
I remember reading something about the guys responsible for Planetscape Torment making a sequel or something.
Watchmen will be good ,though it will prob. need a good computer to run it.

I played a small game called 3089 a futuristic rpg ,which was quite good ,it's a w.i.p though .
The first version ,i played a while ago, was pretty basic ,though you could see it had potential .
It seems to get new updated releases quite regularly.

Planet Explorers went beta recently so maybe a full release this year.
It's hard to describe this one but I would say it's a bit like Minecraft
but less digging and more hunting, gathering, exploring and defending.
Also, it's way prettier than Boxcraft, ehm... Sorry, I mean Minecraft.

Sure the voice acting and some animations are a bit shitty at the moment,
but I love the wildlife variation. Man, I remember the first time my ass
got handed to me by a 'Testudo Mariturtle'. Anyway, I've only tried the
single-player story mode, so I'm not sure if the multiplayer is any good.

Looking forward to Wasteland 2 as well. I never played the original but I'm
a big fan of the Fallout series and from what I've tried the game plays a lot
like the first two Fallout games. Unfortunately the game world feels a bit
empty and small, but I'm hoping that it's just the early access (beta) talking.

Wolfenstein: The New Order ,the guys responsible for the Riddick game,so maybe it will be a good one.

Planet explorers ,i tried ages ago and i liked the look of it,but it didn't run too well on my computer.
I'm sure the recent updates have improved on it.

sidenote:i can't edit the above post, for some reason ,new text is not showing up.

If anyone liked the style of the original wolfenstein (the very old one) ,try Blood Kolo on moddb.
After reading the book in the ship near the beginning ,i was thinking wtf?? :)
==========================================================
Walthor,have u ever tried that H.O.T.D. mod for mount 'n' blade ?

Lol, DM. Those mods look bonkers... Not really my thing though. I have always felt a bit uncomfortable
about manga and Japanese weirdness in general. Kind of rapey and always bordering on pedophilia.

Wolfenstein (and similar) doesn't excite me anymore - To me it just looks like another one of those
corridor rail shooters. Maybe I'm getting too old for the whole nazi sci-fi zombie thing. I still play
those type of games now and again, but I hardly ever play them through to the end.

Anywho, Planet Explorers is still questionable regarding performance stability - I read it's very heavy
on the GPU and eats VRAM for breakfast, so people with older cards/rigs will always struggle I guess.
...Or they need to play in the evening, lol.

I was hoping to see a release of Forsaken Fortress, but the project went bankrupt recently so this
will probably not go any further than the beta stage. Check the links for more info.
Here's an early presentation from the dev... There are other more recent clips on da' tube.

Edit: Here's a link to the official v1.0.3 beta if you want to check it out.
It doesn't seem have any protection, also they still release updates from time to time on
that page. Anyway, just unpack and run... I would block the exe in firewall. I always block
games just to be safe. Like I said it's a beta, so expect bugs, anomalies and untranslated
text stuff. Also, use F11 for menu instead of esc, and U to hide/unhide the UI.

I agree 100% with your comments on Japanese games.
It pretty much sums up my thoughts.
I've never actually downloaded that mod for that very reason.

There's a new rpg, or should i say crpg in the works, Age of Decadence:
http://www.irontowerstudio.com/
public beta available on their page (or check rin for latest steam release)
It seems to getting a lot of good reviews so far.
I don't enjoy these sort of games as much as i used to ,i think because my eyesight is not as sharp as it once was :)

I tried playing Planetscape Torment recently and everything seemed a bit too hard to see clearly.
Though when i first played it a long time ago,i was immersed for days on end.
============================================
That's very sad about Forsaken Fortress, maybe someone can rescue it ,it seems such a waste of might have been a great final product.

What the hell, DM. You going blind? - Wash your hands after you've done chilli marinating that meat.

That Decadence game looks interesting. gonna have to check that out when more time is given. Nice find.
I really like those old-school type games even though the graphics may look a bit outdated sometimes.
The real problem with these games is that (like you said) you can spend days just exploring and looting.

Anyway, here's Kenshi... Another sandbox adventure.
It's in (Early Access) Alpha at the moment, so perhaps a full reease in 2015.
...Well, this thing has been going on for the last 2+ years, so 2015 may be a bit optimistic.

http://www.lofigames.com/

I know we're scraping the bottom of the barrel her but I personally prefer a good indie game over the
big overpriced, and (as I see it) often crappy AA titles - I mean just look at Spider-Man, what a joke.
Also, I haven't even touched Thief yet because of the overly segmented zones and the randomly derpy AI,
and not to mention the annoying camera everytime Garrett does something. I hate when games just steal
the camera movement and start zooming or head bobbing - It makes me seasick. I will eventually try it
out (because I like the original games) but I find other things more interesting at the moment.

Ps. Just to be clear, I have nothing against Japanese or asian culture in general. My previous comment
was about the manga/anime/hentai stuff... Sure, there are some stylistically great looking games like,
Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy or MGR Revengeance, but I still always go, "for facq sake!" whenever they
introduce that puppy-eyed schoolgirl or any other female character that is of questionable age.

Here's Caribbean! - Yet another (Early Access) Alpha.
Basically it's a pirate-themed "Mount & Blade" based on the Warband engine. It's a
stand-alone just like "Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword". I haven't tried myself yet.
I think I'll wait for the full version release which is planned for Autumn 2014.

Thief was a bit of a letdown ,which is sad really .
They should have left the thief name out, maybe it wouldn't have raised peoples expectations.

Caribbean! sounds interesting ,cheers.
Caribbean! comments section seems to full of russian speakers.
I was thinking ,if it's a russian made game ,it might be good.
I remember Precursors and xenus 2 ,flawed games in many ways ,but i like the way some russian games are put together.
They like to think big with lots of detail ,but don't always manage to pull it off 100%
Operation: Matriarchy ( russian first person shooter) old graphics ,but i was sucked into it until the end.(with the fan made patches)

Kenshi also looks like it might be good too.

i'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks walthor.
