Download This CEG Crack by DMN32 @ CS.RIN.RU Borderlands.2.Crackfix.Only.V2-DMN32.zip - 203 KB paste to Binaries/Win32/ in Borderlands 2 Install Directory & then delete the useless buddha.dll after applying the crack.
It's version independent so should work with future update.
Tested on Borderlands 2 KaOs Updated & Update 1.5.0 running @ Windows 8 Pro x64

My game starts then fails instantly
It had worked with update in windows seven. I installed steam and it did not work in windows 8
specs:
windows 8 pro
intel i7
Nvidia GTX 690 (4GB)

Have you try using the crack that I mentioned here?
Because by using this crack I finally able to play Borderlands 2 with the latest update in Windows 8 Pro x64

yeah I did use the crack, before it wouldnt start up at all, and when i put the crack in and deleted the buddha.dll it stats then crashes
